Brad Mayer Of Norwin

Why did you apply to be a Skylights Sideline Shooter? I applied to be a Skylights Sideline Shooter because I love video production. Filming and editing allow me to express my creative and artistic side and show people my passion for video. When I heard about the opportunity to work for WPXI I immediately decided that this job would be perfect for me.

What do you do in your spare time? I do a lot of extra-curricular activities in school. I am President of FBLA, Senior Class Vice President, and a member of the Varsity Swim team. I am also a member of clubs such as Student Council, Interact, DECA, and National Honor Society. When I am not doing school activities I enjoy volunteering and doing community service work. I also currently have two jobs which I enjoy very much.

What do you plan to do after high school? I plan to attend a 4 year college to study either business or medicine.

Close call at Steamboat airport

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Steamboat Springs airport officials say a United Express flight aborted a landing attempt on Saturday after the pilots spotted a small plane on their runway.

Yampa Valley Regional Airport Manager Dave Ruppel says traffic controllers in Denver had cleared the small plane for takeoff after the United Express pilots apparently reported they were already on the ground before they had actually landed.

No injuries were reported. United officials did not immediately return a call.

It's not clear how many people were on the United Express CRJ-700, which can carry 66 passengers, or the smaller King Air, which can carry nine or 12.

Federal officials said Monday they had no report of the incident.

Analysis: Are the New iPhones Worth the Price?

The 32GB iPod touch—double the original's capacity—will also sell for $499, while the original 8GB and 16GB models will maintain their $399 and $299 price tags.

The big story here is really the iPod touch, for which many consumers have been waiting to reach the 32GB mark. It's the first flash memory iPod to truly enter a capacity realm traditionally reserved for hard disks. (Though Creative and SanDisk both beat Apple to the 32GB capacity.) The price may simply be too high, however—$500 for an iPhone already seems like a lot of money. Will consumers respond positively to a $500 iPod? As recently as 2004, Apple released a $600 iPod, the iPod Photo, and other iterations of the iPod have sold for $500 in the past, as well.

Times have changed, though, as a potential recession looms.

Sundance documentaries focus on trauma, tragedy

PARK CITY, Utah — If the documentaries at this year's Sundance Film Festival reflect the current state of the world, then the world is in trouble.

Irena Salina's "FLOW: For Love of Water" explores a global water shortage that could imperil Third World countries. Patrick Creadon's "I.O.U.S.A." warns that the United States is on the brink of a financial meltdown, while "Trouble the Water," directed by Tia Lessin and Carl Deal, shows how Hurricane Katrina's impact lingers among its survivors as a sobering example of government neglect.

"Secrecy," directed by Peter Galison and Robb Moss, argues that the United States' post-9/11 obsession with classified documents has created a government secrecy crisis. Josh Tickell's "Fields of Fuel" probes the world's uneasy addiction to oil, and Lisa F.
